Monday 29 June 2009: ‘Bring and Make Night’
Participants were given the chance to share their knitting problems, make a domino floor pattern and craft their very own paper lanterns’. Taking place at the Jerwood Space, this hands-on, interactive night was led by Linda Florence (textiles), Claire Norcross (lighting) and one of the UFO Project Administrators. All creations were photographed at the end of the night. In addition, visitors were invited to bring along their unfinished - and problem - knitting for the UFO Project Administrator to solve.
Monday 6 July 2009: Meet the Makers
Martina Margetts, Senior Tutor in Critical and Historical Studies at the Royal College of Art, were in conversation with Geoffrey Mann (product art), Ismini Samanidou (woven textiles) and Claire Norcross (lighting).The artists shared and discussed their approaches to making in relation to production, factories and new technology.
